I like the juxtaposition between the living and dead objects. Lighting suits the image very well (as in, well done for recreating the type of paintings' mood). The only thing that I would suggest is maybe substitute the clothing for something plainer and whatever you want the viewer to get from the image (for instance, if the skull symbolizes harsh death, then try flowing material that makes the living matter look softer, such as gossamer).
Very nice, the concept is great and I really like the lace tablecloth! You balanced the piece very well, and the way every little detail was considered looks very good.
However, the piece does seem very dark. I'd suggest having a soft light source (A lamp or window) on one side. I feel this would not only make more details stand out, but also deepen the shadows and make it really pop! I also feel you could reposition the skull just a bit so that the jaws could be visible, but that's completely my opinion. But overall, I really like how you did this! The concept is fantastic, and the focus is very good as well.
